Add glamour with a statement bath.
Make your freestanding bath the star of the show by placing it as the centre of the room, or turn it into a proper focal point by putting it below a window.

OVER-BATH SHOWER
A combined bath and shower saves space.
Add an overhead shower above a family sized bath so that it doubles up as a shower enclosure.
For a more permanent solution, fit an electric shower above the bath and add a screen.
Make it roomy by picking a shower-bath that bows out at one end, giving extra space for showering.
Double up with a fixed-head shower and bath taps fitted with a hand-held spray, so bathing little ones or cleaning is easy.
Add finishing touches in the shape of feature tiles, his-and-hers basins and built-in storage solutions.
BATH AND SHOWER
Get the most from your space with a bath and separate shower cubicle.
Design the room accordingly to how it is most used. If your family prefers showers, then opt for a smaller bath and a bigger walk-in shower. If a larger bath is called for, then an efficient use of space could be a corner shower.
Build a false wall at the end of your bath, if there is enough room, so it can form one side of the shower cubicle. It’s a clever space saving solutions.
Double basins are great for families and couples. Space tight? Then you could try a longer trough shaped sink with wall-mounted taps.

A dedicated shower room can be a luxurious space.
A wetroom is a stylish options but not a simple one. The room will need tanking as there is no enclosure, and instead of a tray, the water drains away through an outlet in the floor. For a cheaper alternative, try an ultra-low-level tray with a simple all-glass screen.
Section off the end of a narrow room with tiled walls and large glass doors to create a walk-in shower. If space is at a premium, then fitting bi-fold doors will help.
Choose wall-hung storage to create the illusion of space by opening up the floor.
Fit under floor heating to save space and add a simple wall-mounted heated rail for towels.
Using colourful mosaic tiles on walls and floors will transform a fitted shower room.
